Inaugurated the Museum of Gucci in Florence
Gucci turns 90 this year and, in addition to having delighted with the capsule collection, unveiled in Florence a museum dedicated to the house in the historic Palace of Merchandise, Piazza Della Signori. An event that has welcomed 250 guests, which has seen many celebrities and big names in the fashion gurus of Vogue Anna Wintour (Vogue America), Franca Sozzani Alexandra Schulman (Vogue UK) and Emmanuelle Alt (Vogue Paris) , Charlotte Casiraghi (beautiful mini-dress by Gucci fringed), Carolina Crescent, Alpo Elkin and Luke Augmenter with his wife Miriam Actinia. Hosts Freda Guanine, Gucci's creative director (who must wear one of the leaders of the collection has just been presented on the catwalks of Milan) and Patricio di Marco, president and CEO of the group. Closing the exclusive party has presented Blondie, another icon of '70s and ‘80s; she performed in a show case.
The museum showcases a permanent exhibition of the iconic pieces of the house: handbags, red carpet dresses, accessories and much more. All backed by a number of installations of contemporary art selected with the support of and in the wake of the Penult Foundation's brand philosophy, "Forever Now”. The new space is spread in 1700 square feet and, in addition to exhibition space, houses a library, a cafeteria and small boutique iconic pieces, like the New Jackie, the New Bamboo, the moccasin with the clamp and the Flora scarf made exclusively for the museum. The museum officially opens its doors to the public today, September 28 and half of the revenues will be donated to a fund for the City of Florence, designed to preserve and restore works of art. Another reason to be there.
