Microsoft Windows 8 and customizations saved in Live ID
Continue Tour, week after week, the new features that will characterize the future and the new operating system at home Microsoft, Windows 8 . Here then appear on the official blog, explaining how to manage access across Windows 8 Windows Live ID.
The ability to access the operating system through a Windows Live ID allows you to go save the customizations made in the cloud, tying them to our profile. In this way, every time they are logged on with our account, no matter which PC, the settings are automatically loaded. Any information you have entered, and collecting from the system, it will be made available wherever you are: changes to the operating system, changed backgrounds, in our favorite browser, but also multimedia elements that were in play during our last session, left to the exact second where we put them on hold.
Everything, of course, provided that there is an internet connection, which Windows 8 will go to gather the information and settings stored by the user.
To make the experience more fluid can be used also when access is made from a second PC to the collection of personal information occurs in the background, once the system has booted. In use, therefore, will surface little by little our customizations: desktop wallpaper, favorites and personal shortcut created on the interface Metro.
The creation of an online profile, on balance, you can go to sync all your customizations for your operating system: once the changes are made personally do not have to make them again.
The ability to save information online is a trend now well established that, day after day, finds new deployments: a critical element of this particular technology is, however, by security. Microsoft is aware of the weakness, writes in the post dedicated to the new features of Windows 8:
"The saved data are not available to other services from Microsoft or third parties. In addition, before giving access to sensitive information to another Windows PC with 8 for the first time, you will need to provide more evidence to prove the identity. The system would be to provide Microsoft with a special code that can be sent to your mobile phone or an e-mail alternative. "
The video shows to follow, in practice, the operation of the new technology:
