The Korean mobile giant Samsung has officially announced its first handset equipped with the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, Windows Phone Mango. The solution will be called Samsung Omnia W and, as expected, will replace the first Windows phone in the range of the house, or Omnia 7.
The first Windows smart phones from Samsung Phone, distinguished by the initials i8700 was released about a year ago, to coincide with the debut of the new OS. The new Omnia takes largely on the lines of the old version but incorporates a number of solutions updated hardware than its predecessor.
Among the most significant voices of the sheet there is a single-core processor operating at a frequency of 1.4 GHz, 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of memory dedicated to storage. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, HSPA up to 14.4 Mbps download and GPS. The back cover features a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash, while the front is a second VGA camera for video calls. The display which will feature a panel Omnia W Super-resolution AMOLED WVGA 3.7-inch diagonal.
The Asian manufacturer has stated that the terminal will be available from next month in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa simultaneously. The price of Omnia W has not yet been announced but we could assume a position around 400 €, a figure needed to win even HTC Radar (currently the closest competitor for specific).
