Notebook Manufacturers: less encouraging data in August

The web site Digitizes reports some information on sales data from the month of August for major contract manufacturers of notebook systems which show a rather varied, but with a common denominator: the question of back-to-school period, which normally is the engine of the results for the third quarter, it is settling at a level quite disappointing.

The reality that keeps track of the results is more comforting Quanta Computer, with a turnover of 93.06 billion August Taiwanese dollars, equivalent to 3.2 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 8, 7%. How many scores in terms of unit shipments for 5 million units, registering a growth of 11% compared to the results of August. Quanta has previously pointed out, however, a certain weakness for the second half of the year, stating that the deliveries would have seen a growth of 5% when compared to the first half of the year. For the full year 2011, the company should be able to reach its target of a growth of 10%, in terms of units, year over year.

Analysts how much should also register an increase in sales performance, thanks to a series of orders for the production of solutions commissioned by two important tablets such as Sony and Amazon.

Rather different situation to Weston, with a turnover of NT $ 51.74 billion recorded in August, which translates into an increase of 0.35% on a monthly basis. In terms of volume is 2.5 million notebooks delivered in August, 100,000 more than it sold during the month of July. Previous estimates have indicated a growth Weston single digit, on a sequential basis, for the third and fourth quarter.

The company continues to maintain unchanged the target set for 2011 deliveries amounted to 30 million laptops, thanks to the results of the second half of 2011 should be positively affected by the orders that HP has the same Winston hijacked by Flextronics.

Less rosy scenario for Invented: the company has in fact declined by 24.5% in revenues in August amounted to NT $ 24.98 billion. In the first eight months of the year the company reported a decline in turnover by 5.1% over the same period last year, totaling NT $ 218.03 billion. Estimates of the entire company for 2011 include a situation largely unchanged compared to 2010, with a slight chance of slight growth.
