PlayStation Life: the launch date for Japan is December 17 (PSP)

PlayStation Life will be on sale in Japan on December 17 at a price of 29,980 yen for WiFi/3G version and priced at 24,980 for the WiFi-only version (in Europe the prices are respectively € 299 and € 249). This was announced by Sony at its pre-Tokyo Game Show conference.



Sony will begin receiving pre-order by October 15. He announced that there will be the case in the box, headphones, a cloth to wipe the screen, the charger for the car, all with the PlayStation logo Life. The console's launch for Europe and North America is rather expected in the first part of 2012.

Sony has reached an agreement with the provider NTT Do Como to offer 3G services in Japan. NTT will offer a dedicated phone plan for users of PlayStation Life: 980 yen for 20 hours, or 4,980 yen for connecting a plan of 100 hours.

At launch there will be 26 titles in Japan, while in the "launch window" Japanese users will have even 100 different games for the new handheld console. Below the list of games available from 26th December 17 :

According to figures provided by Sony, the battery life ranges from PlayStation 3 to 5 hours. If you are just playing videos, for example, there will be a range of about 5 hours. But if you insert the handheld into standby mode and you're ready to listen to music only extend the duration up to 9 hours.

Life with PlayStation CPU quad core ARM Cortex-A9, PowerVR GPU SGX543MP4 + and 512 MB of system memory. The video memory instead of 128 MB. The system is equipped with front and rear camera, built-in stereo speakers, as well as a microphone. The front camera operates at a frame rate of 120fps at 320x240 resolution (QVGA), while the rear to 60fps at 640x480 (VGA).

The display is 5 inches and handles about 16 million colors. This is an OLED screen multi-touch capacitive. The console also has a touch pad at the rear, still capacitive. Life with PlayStation is the system of six-axis motion of the gyroscope and accelerometer and electronic compass. The GPS receiver is available with support for 3G + WiFi.
