Radeon HD 6870 version of Dirt 3 Edition

Sapphire has announced a new mainstream video card market, GPU-based AMD Radeon HD 6870: This is the Model Dirt HD 6870 Edition 3, characterized as the name suggests easily understood by the integration of the bundled game Dirt 3.

The card has better specifications than the reference board: the GPU clocked at 920 MHz against 900 MHz by default, notwithstanding the number of stream processors equal to 1,120. Not changing the conformation of video memory, in quantities of 1 GB GDDR5 memory modules based on actual clock frequency of 4,200 MHz

The particularity of this video card is in the cooling system: a design was adopted with a pair of fans 90 mm in diameter that ensures, as anticipated by Sapphire, a superior heat dissipation compared to the reference design but with a noise level of operation less complex.

The availability of a product like this, especially thinking about the market position in the midrange segment, suggests that it is also the expectation of the video card manufacturers for the debut of the next generation of AMD GPUs, Radeon destined to join the family 7000. The rumors about this are numerous and sometimes contradictory: it is conceivable that in the autumn of the first proposals to finally debut on the market.
