HTC considers the acquisition of a mobile operating system

High Tech Computer, one of the largest manufacturers of smart phone solutions more accessible to the public by its acronym HTC, would have undertaken a careful consideration on the possibility of acquiring a mobile operating system, in order to better differentiate themselves from competitors and to achieve a market not yet saturated.

Cheer Wang, president of HTC, said during an interview with the newspaper Economic Observer: "It 'a consideration that we evaluated and we have discussed internally, but we do not act on impulse. We can use any operating system we want. We are capable of do things differently than our competitors on the second and third level of the platform. Our strength is the ability to understand the operating system, but that does not mean that we should make one. "

HTC uses on some of its phones Sense proprietary interface that allows it to distinguish itself from other solutions or Windows Android Phone on the market. While the proprietary interface enables it to better compete against rivals, against HTC is still fully dependent on suppliers of operating systems such as Google and Microsoft. Dependence that can not be competitive in those areas where Android and Windows Phone the side show.

The acquisition of a mobile operating system could represent a strategic move for HTC, since that would reduce its dependence on two giants mentioned above and have a more competitive against other operating systems like Apple's iPhone OS and the Mind Samsung .

The leading candidate, noting the current scenario in the industry, seems to be the operating system web OS recently offered for sale by HP. However, among mobile operating systems waiting for a better fate, there is also the project me ego originally brought out by Nokia and Intel, but has seen the defection of reality after the Finnish abandonment of a few months ago Intel announced last week.
