Game Stop Gaming tablet with Android

Game Stop will use Android for gaming tablet that will launch in the coming years. This is a solution branded as part of a project initiated by several months. The tablet will be launched together with a number of games already installed. The retailer Game Stop will sell its tablet devices together with other existing major manufacturers like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and Apple.

"I do not see the sense of creating a completely new tablet given that there are at least 300 already on the market," said Tony Barrel, Game Stop's Chairman, to Games Industry, referring to the decision to use existing hardware. "We have a center of restructuring and we are able to pre-load some games already on the device at launch. This is an Android."

Game Stop calls his solution "for gaming platform certified by Game Stop." Currently, the device is being tested. This involved some users who reside in Dallas, Texas, who were the first to have the opportunity to touch the new gaming tablet Game Stop. The test started by a couple of weeks. Dallas was chosen as the base city for the tests because it is located near the search site on which you are testing Game Stop streaming technology acquired by Spawn Labs.

Although initially there will be a limited line of video games for the mobile device, Game Stop intends to provide streaming games for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC gaming using technology similar to that of cloud and On Live Gaikai. There will also be a dedicated controller, designed to involve as many players as possible.

"Currently there are no Android-based tablet using an external controller," says Barrel. "We want to make available on our tablet a lot of games with different characteristics, and among them there are products that need a dedicated controller to be played in the best way. It would be hard to imagine, for example, you can play without a controller Modern Warfare 3 ".

Game Stop is working closely with developers to enable them to create games that can take advantage of streaming technology Spawn Labs and the new controller. There are no hardware specifications of the new device, while the image you see on this page is a concept and then the final model could be very different from the picture.
