The initial prices of AMD's FX series

A historical marker of the upcoming availability of a marketed product is its appearance in the lists online retailers. This is what happened with some models of the AMD FX series, the next generation of enthusiast-end CPU based on the architecture of the American Forestry.

The North American online retailer Bottom-line Telecommunications (BLT) has in fact put their lists online AMD FX-8150, FX and FX-8120-6100, 3 models expected to debut in the coming weeks for which were already emerged in large part to the technical base.

These technical specifications with prices:

• AMD FX-8150 : 8-core architecture, clock frequency of 3,600 MHz, 125 Watt TDP, price U.S. $ 266.28;

• AMD FX-8120 : 8-core architecture, clock frequency of 3,100 MHz, 125 Watt TDP, price U.S. $ 221.73;

• AMD FX-6100: 6-core architecture, clock frequency of 3,300 MHz, 95 Watt TDP, price U.S. $ 188.32.

We remember how you wait for the FX solutions to debut architecture versions with 4, 6 and 8 cores and different clock frequencies. Compatibility is certified with the AM3 + motherboards, though unofficially it is also possible to adopt these CPUs for use with socket AM3 motherboards equipped with special bios updated.

It is unclear at the moment because these values correspond to the price actually charged by retailers when these CPUs will debut on the market. In general, the first price, before the official announcement, is always slightly higher than the list price will then be effective. It now remains only to understand when, during the fourth quarter of 2011, AMD will finally deliver these solutions.
