Intel SSD 520, SSD 510's successor

Intel has long been dedicated to solid-state drive market with the intention, not too hidden, to become the main protagonist as it is able to do in the x 86 segments.

A slide recently checked and reported by Vr-zone shows the future plans of the company from which you can extract important details. Intel would have it ready the successor of SSD 510, a solution aimed at the high end market, which has raised major kudos from users.

Codename Cherryville, the new solution will be called SSD 520. The main goal with the launch of Intel's new proposal is going to hit the market more broadly here, because this will be five cuts of 520 SSD, respectively 60, 120, 160, 240 and 480GB. SSD instead of 510 is only available with 120 and 250GB versions Elle.

The new solution, based on information currently available, will be able to ensure equal to 530MB/se a sequential read write 490MB / s : leading performance, capable of satisfying a consumer of fans. Random access varies from 40.000 to 45.000 IOPS for read write IOPS.

The new units will be available in the usual format 2.5 "SATA and modules will be produced with NAND-type MLC 24 nanometers, of course, produced by Intel. The controller will be able to support the SMART technology, TRIM, as well as NCQ encryption of data via 256-bit AES key. MTBF (mean time before failure) has said 1.2 million hours and the SSD is certified to operate between 0 ° and 70 ° Celsius. The full production 520 of the new SSD solutions should start in the last quarter of 2011.
